Basic CloudTools Configuration

Use the CloudTools Configuration page to register your Salesforce org, generate a license key, and update an existing subscription.

1. Open the configuration page

  1. Make sure CloudTools is installed and your Salesforce user has the CloudTools Admin permission set assigned.
  2. Open the Salesforce App Launcher, search for Apptigent CloudTools, and open the app.
  3. Select the Configuration tab and wait for the subscription information to load.

If this org has not been registered, a warning indicates that no subscription was found. Complete the form below to get started.

2. Complete the form

Only the following three fields require your attention. The other fields display subscription information and cannot be edited on this page.

Field What to enter
Contact Email Enter a valid email address that can receive subscription notices, error notifications, and maintenance updates. This field is required.
Consumer Key Leave blank to use the default External Client App. If your administrator has configured a custom External Client App, enter its Consumer Key.
Consumer Secret Leave blank to use the default External Client App. If you entered a custom Consumer Key, enter the Consumer Secret from the same app.

Note: Consumer Key and Consumer Secret are always blank when the page opens or refreshes. Previously stored credentials are not displayed. These fields refer to the Salesforce External Client App, not a Microsoft Entra app registration.

3. Submit and check your licenses

  1. Click Submit and wait for processing to finish.
  2. Check for a success notification and a value in the License Key field.
  3. Review the subscription details. License Valid, License Expired, and License Trial show the current status. License Start, License End, and Licensed Users show the dates and user allowance returned for your subscription.
  4. Refresh the page to load the latest Connector Licenses. This table shows each connector’s name, whether its license is enabled, whether it is a trial, and its expiration date. Expired dates appear in red.

Keep the Subscription ID and License ID available when contacting support. If you use an external platform’s CloudTools connector, enter the generated License Key where that connector requests an API key or license key.

License registration is the first step. Connections to Microsoft 365 and other services are configured separately on the CloudTools Connectors tab.

4. Update an existing subscription

  1. Return to the Configuration tab and review the existing subscription.
  2. Confirm or update Contact Email. Leave both credential fields blank for the default External Client App. If you use a custom app, enter its Consumer Key and Consumer Secret again before submitting.
  3. Click Submit. The confirmation explains that stored OAuth credentials will be updated and some operations may be briefly interrupted while the cache refreshes.
  4. Click OK to continue, or Cancel to leave the subscription unchanged.
  5. After processing finishes, review the returned license details. If the License Key has changed, update any external connections that use it.

Use Manage Subscription to open the subscription purchase or management page. If this button is not visible immediately after registration, refresh the Configuration page.
